Since its launch, the ASUS Eee PC has met with widespread approval not only for its cheapness but also its wide range of features including being wireless enabled. ASUSTek have got so many things right with this computer. The 4G model is currently the most popular choice and there is also a 2G version. The ASUS eee pc 701 8G would have been a preferred option but there just aren't any available in the UK at present and may not be in the future. Most of the 8G models you see in the listings below are actually the eee pc 4G (it pays to read the small print!)

The eee laptop is great as a first computer and for more experienced computer users too. It's small size, its .90kg weight and being wireless enabled all make it ideal for use when travelling.

It includes FireFox for web browsing, comes with the Linux operating system pre-installed and the popular OpenOffice suite of programs. It can also be used with Microsoft Windows. In fact some models are being shipped with Windows as the default operating system but these models are not yet available in the UK.

If you're concerned about your computer's security the eee pc even comes with its own anti-virus software. In terms of price, performance and features the eee pc is a winner.

Looking ahead, a new model, the Eee PC 900 is expected to be launched in the UK later this year. Among other features, the 900 will have more memory, and the screen will be slightly larger.
